Feting Galeries Lafayette’s Cupola

The retailer will exhibit its employees’ creations inspired by the 100-year-old edifice starting Dec. 11.

A view of the exhibition.

DOME DESIGNS: To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the famed cupola of its Boulevard Haussmann store in Paris, Galeries Lafayette asked the department store’s staff members to create artworks inspired by the edifice. The result is 34 works by 22 different artists, including various paintings and a dress that reinterprets the cupola’s design. They will be on display for the public from Dec. 11-13 in the atrium of the retailer’s headquarters, on Rue de Chateaudun just behind the main store. An opening event to be attended by Galeries Lafayette’s management as well as the artists will take place at midday on Dec. 11.
