FGI ACTING UP: The Fashion Group International’s Night of Stars next week very well could be nicknamed the Night of Actresses. Meryl Streep will hand over the Superstar award to Alber Elbaz, Katie Holmes will present theFashion Star award to Bruno Frisoni for Roger Vivier and Diane Kruger will do the honors for Fashion Star Jason Wu. “Girls” actress Allison Williams will give the Retail Trailblazer award to eBay’s Marcelle Parrish. Jimmy Choo founder Tamara Mellon will take to the podium to give Pinterest its due for Technology Innovation by giving the award to Evan Sharp.
Billed as “The Revolutionaries,” guests at the Oct. 22 event will catch performances by jazz musician Brian Newman and singer-songwriter Tori Kelly. They will no doubt be even more enthusiastic for Justin Timberlake, the winner of the Lord & Taylor Fashion Oracle Award. But FGI’s Margaret Hayes isn’t giving everything away — choosing to hold off on revealing who his presenter will be. (No word yet, either, on Fashion Star honoree Jonathan Anderson’s presenter.)
Other presenters attending the Simon Doonan-emceed black-tie dinner will be John Demsey for Beauty Star winner Karyn Khoury; Harper Bazaar’s Glenda Bailey for Brand Heritage winner Bulgari; Peter Harris for Interior Design winners George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg of Yabu Pushelberg; Andrew Morgan for Sustainability winner Eileen Fisher, and Lew Frankfort for Humanitarian winner Karen Harvey.
