Finalists Revealed for Dorchester Prize

All of the fashion designers are based in London.

LONDON — Despite opening up to international applications, the four finalists for the 2013 Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize are a London-centric group of designers. Barbara Casasola, Emilia Wickstead, Huishan Zhang and Fyodor Golan, a design duo, are all based in the English capital.
The winner is to be announced on Oct. 29 at the Dorchester hotel in London and take home a 25,000-pound prize (about $37,800), as well as one-to-one mentoring and a two-night stay at one of the collection’s properties, which include the Beverly Hills Hotel, Le Meurice and the Hôtel Plaza Athénée in Paris.
Previous winners of this prize include Thomas Tait and Anndra Neen.

Despite their London links, the finalists are an international bunch. Casasola, who will show at London Fashion Week for the first time next season, hails from Brazil. Wickstead was born in New Zealand and Zhang is Chinese. Fyodor Podgorny is Latvian and Golan Frydman is Israeli with German and Moroccan roots.
