‘Fashion Feeds New York’ to Debut in September

DKNY and other fashion companies will host trunk shows and in-store promotions to raise funds for the charitable initiative.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: As part of “Fashion Feeds New York,” a new monthlong initiative designed to help the underfed, DKNY and other fashion companies will host trunk shows and in-store promotions. The event coincides with Hunger Action Month.

As of Sept. 8, visitors to an online CharityBuzz auction can bid on items from Ferragamo, Miu Miu, Oscar de la Renta and others. In addition, companies are also going to have “jeans days” that benefit Fashion Feeds New York Day, by encouraging employees to wear their favorite pair of jeans in return for a donation to City Harvest. Each dollar donated allows City Harvest to rescue and deliver close to four pounds of food.

“City Harvest feeds the city that feeds our inspiration and we have been a proud supporter of the organization for over five years,” said Patti Cohen, executive vice president of global marketing and communications for Donna Karan International.
