FOR ART’S SAKE: Giorgio Armani will finance an exhibition opening Nov. 11 at Milan’s Pinacoteca di Brera. Through his Giorgio Armani Group, the designer will donate 300,000 euros, or $410,570 at current exchange, to the Milanese art institution, which will host a retrospective dedicated to Renaissance architect and artist Donato Bramante.
The exhibition will include a number of Bramante’s drawings, paintings and sculptures on loan from different museums and private collections, including Windsor Castle’s Royal Collection, Copenhagen’s Staatens Museum and Florence’s Uffizi Gallery. Armani is the only private investor backing the exhibit, which will be open until March 1.
