AmfAR Honoring Tom Ford in Los Angeles

The designer will receive the Award of Inspiration at the annual Inspiration Gala Los Angeles on Oct. 29.

FORD GETS INSPIRED: Tom Ford can soon add to his list of industry accolades, including CFDA Womenswear and Menswear Designer of the Year and Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, when he receives the Award of Inspiration at amfAR’s fifth annual Inspiration Gala Los Angeles on Oct. 29. At the Inspiration Gala, a celebration of men’s style, amfAR will recognize both his contributions to men’s wear design and his commitment to combating the AIDS crisis.

Ford has been a longtime supporter of amfAR and an outspoken advocate on behalf of people living with AIDS. The event, to be held at Milk Studios, is chaired by amfAR chairman Kenneth Cole, Bryan Lourd and Aileen Getty, and cochaired by Simon Halls and Matt Bomer. Proceeds from the black-tie gala will benefit amfAR’s life-saving AIDS research initiatives.
