CLEAN SWEEP: “It’s spotless,” Amira Casar pronounced about the gleaming bathroom-tile set at Thursday’s Balenciaga show. She should know, having just wrapped up an Eran Riklis film titled “Playoff,” in which she portrays an unlikely heroine. “I play a cleaning lady. I’m the only woman in the film,” she said. A range of French film stars took in the show, including rising stars Tahir Rahim and Pio Marmaï.
Marina Foïs, currently on stage in a production of “Harper Regan” in Paris, said she plays a “whore” in her next film, opposite Charlotte Rampling. “She’s a bit of a Western-style whore: a lot of jackets with fringe,” she explained. Marmai said clothes for his next film, opposite Audrey Tautou in the romantic comedy “La Delicatesse,” are more pedestrian, as he plays someone into jogging.
Orlando Bloom, meanwhile, has a musical moment in his future. The actor’s next project is with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, starting next week. “They’re doing four nights of Tchaikovsky, and I’m doing Romeo,” said Bloom, who explained “The Tempest” and “Hamlet” would also be covered during the cycle. “I am going to go straight home into rehearsal and do it,” he said.
Rahim, meanwhile, said he’s taking a break after just finishing filming Jean-Jacques Annaud’s “Black Gold,” in which he plays a young prince. Isabelle Huppert has been filming Michael Haneke’s next movie “Amour.”
