TO THE MAX: The BCBG Max Azria show boasted a front row of starlets despite an early start time and frigid temperatures. Jennifer Love Hewitt attended the show for the first time, wearing a silver V-neck BCBG dress, and is gearing up to direct her first feature, “Wait Until Helen Comes.”
Katrina Bowden, Ashanti, Maggie Rizer, Garcelle Beauvais, Nicola Peltz and Lorraine Nicholson filled out the front row in a variety of BCBG designs. Bowden squeezed the show viewing in between rehearsals for her role in “Love, Loss, and What I Wore,” which opens Thursday. “Max [Azria] is great. He actually designed a dress for me for the SAG Awards just a couple weeks ago,” said Bowden. She’ll also be attending the Max Azria and Rebecca Minkoff shows.
Fashion ingenues Peltz and Nicholson took in the press circus and talked of their upcoming projects. Peltz just finished an independent film, “Eye of the Hurricane,” which will be released in the coming months. Nicholson — daughter of that other Nicholson — said, “I’m in ‘Soul Surfer,’ coming out this spring. It’s a biopic about Bethany Hamilton, the young girl who got her arm bit off by a shark and is still a pro-surfer. I play her best friend, but it was intense, physical.” The 21-year-old added, “I actually wore BCBG to my first formal, so I’ve been a fan ever since.”
