BIANCA STYLING: In a white pantsuit and dark sunglasses, Bianca Jagger was keeping a low profile Monday morning at Carolina Herrera’s show. Across the way, actress Julianne Hough was besieged with photographers. Blinking her way through a few questions, the “Footloose” actress told WWD, “Sorry, I’m blinded.” Without the slightest trace of irony, she said her latest project is an adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks’ book “Safe Haven.” And next month Hough headlines “Time and a Half.”
Jagger, meanwhile, said, “I’ve never been interested in fashion. I’ve always been interested in style. For me, whatever was in fashion in the Seventies, Eighties or Nineties didn’t matter. Style is knowing yourself and what looks good on you.
“Beauty is timeless. It’s not about skirt lengths, colors or certain moods,” Jagger said. “I’m a great believer in style and I’m hopeful more women will understand that.”
Fran Lebowitz was at the show with Graydon Carter, and said she’d been to three shows this season — Diane von Furstenberg, Charlotte Ronson and Herrera. “I have to know you for 30 years,” said Lebowitz, about her show strategy. And has she known Ronson for 30 years? “I’ve known her since she was a child,” referring to the 35-year-old designer.
Asked what she’s been up to lately, Lebowitz deadpanned, “Sulking.” As for any parties she’s going to during fashion week, Lebowitz said, “I don’t remember the parties I go to.”
Ivanka Trump, wearing a Carolina Herrera dress but shoes from her own line, attended her first show of fashion week. She said she’s been busy with her fashion company. “It’s been really terrific and beyond my wildest projections, and I like to project aggressively.”
