JUGGLING TRICKS: Among the front-row guests at the Carven show in Paris on Thursday was French singer and actress Alka Balbir, who revealed she will release her debut album “La Première Fois” (“The First Time” in English) next Monday.

Balbir worked on the album with French singer and composer Benjamin Biolay. “It’s a little bit like having a baby together,” she said. “We are very much alike. [The album] is tortured, romantic, passionate, coarse sometimes, and it’s also melancholic, but always with a dash of joy, thankfully.”

Irène Jacob is also juggling music with film. She is busy recording the as-yet-untitled follow-up to her debut album with her brother Francis. “It’s world music with French lyrics,” she explained. The “Three Colors: Red” star spent the summer shooting French director Claude Lelouch’s “Salaud on t’aime” (which loosely translates as “We Love You, You Bastard”).

Inès de la Fressange said she was busy helping to revive her namesake brand, which was taken over in May by a group of private investors. The company has appointed Fleur Demery, who previously worked with Vincent Darré, as head of design and is looking for a ready-to-wear licensee, she said.

The Roger Vivier brand ambassador is also gearing up for the Oct. 2 opening of a retrospective on the shoe label at the Palais de Tokyo. “The less I decide to work, the more job offers I get,” de la Fressange said.
