AROUND THE BENZ: Fresh from Sunday’s film festival celebrating her 40-year career at BAM, Susan Sarandon admitted she didn’t sit through many of the films. “I know how they end,” she said at Chris Benz’s presentation Monday. Asked if the affair seemed surreal, the actress said, “It is always a little surreal in my world.”
As for whether the retrospective was premature, Sarandon said, “I would much rather have it when I’m alive than dead.”
Next up is a flick with Richard Gere that is a financial intrigue-domestic drama combo. Sarandon is also polishing up an alternative reality series set in Spin, the Ping-Pong club she backs.
Debbie Harry and Johnny Weir (again) were also in the crowd as was Jessica Szohr of “Gossip Girl,” who is banking on her next flick for serious style tips. “I’m filming ‘I Don’t Know How She Does It’ with Sarah Jessica Parker. I feel I will get all my fashion from her,” she said.
The Wisconsin native was more closed about her relationship status with Super Bowl-winning quarterback Aaron Rodgers. “I’m here to talk about fashion,” Szohr said.
