MAKE ROOM FOR BASSO: Dennis Basso made room for 1,200 guests at his show Monday but one really shook the house. It was flashbulb city when Mary J. Blige marched in wearing a $250,000 Russian lynx coat. With Mondays off from her role on Broadway in “Outside Mullingar,” Debra Messing had a short commute to Lincoln Center.

Carmen Dell’Orefice also made her presence known in a sable cape, while Sarah Rafferty of the hit show “Suits” sat near Messing, as did two other friendly faces to photographers, Olivia Palermo and Carol Alt. And as fond as Basso is of his socialite friends like Jennifer Creel and Ashley McDermott, the designer was no doubt delighted to see Saks Fifth Avenue’s new girl in town, Marigay McKee. During her Harrods days, she brought Basso’s collection into the fold and opened his concept shop there four years ago.
