For the celebrities attending the film festival in neighboring Cannes, the excursion to Monaco was an easy day trip. Ahna O’Reilly stars in both “Fruitvale Station” and “As I Lay Dying,” screening in the festival’s Un Certain Regard section. “I thought it was spectacular,” O’Reilly said of the Dior show. The American actress will be seen later this year in “CBGB,” named after the legendary epicenter of New York City’s punk rock scene in the Seventies. She plays director Mary Harron in the film. “I admired her greatly as a director, and I had no idea that she had this whole history with the start of the punk scene,” O’Reilly said. “She was the first person ever to interview the Sex Pistols and the Talking Heads.”

Jessica Biel said she was getting ready to walk the Cannes red carpet with her husband Justin Timberlake, who stars in Joel and Ethan Coen’s “Inside Llewyn Davis,” in competition for the Palme d’Or award. “I think it will be very romantic,” Biel said. “It’s not my film so I can just go and be his date, and that will be without pressure, and fun and wonderful.”

Liv Tyler was feeling emotional after having dinner the previous night with Bernardo Bertolucci, the director who brought her to fame 17 years ago in “Stealing Beauty.” “It was the most beautiful experience I’ve ever had making a film, so it’s kind of a blessing and a curse all at once, because it’s never been as good ever again,” Tyler said. “He really made such an impact on the way I see the world and the way I approach making films in general, because I learned so much from him and his aesthetic.”

The actress recently wrapped “Jamie Marks Is Dead,” an indie flick directed by fashion photographer Carter Smith. “It looks beautiful but it’s a weird movie. I had long fake pink nails and a kind of grown-out perm,” Tyler said with a laugh. “It was so fun to have big, amazing curly hair. I was channeling Tawny Kitaen, Whitesnake video moves.”
