DKNY BUZZ: DKNY’S business continues to percolate on both the wholesale and retail fronts. “Business is good. We finished 2012 very strong and 2013 has a lot of good signals,” said Mark Weber, chief executive officer of Donna Karan International, at Sunday’s fashion show. January business was “excellent” and February has been slightly affected by the weather. “People are responding well to the brand,” said Weber, noting strong results from DKNY Collection, women’s and men’s jeans and Pure. He also said DKNY plans to open more stores in New York “but I’m not ready to tell you where yet.” DKNY’s flagship store on Madison Avenue is going to be refurbished and is closing temporary in June. In the interim, DKNY will open several pop-up stores in New York.
As for the celeb factor, actresses in the front row of the DKNY show were Shay Mitchell of “Pretty Little Liars;” Holland Roden, of MTV’s “Teen Wolf,” and Victoria Justice of Nickleodeon’s “Victorious.”
