PHANTOM PRESENCE: Taking in the Etro show in Milan on Friday was Rose McGowan, who flew in for a dinner on Saturday hosted by Bruno Magli, and planned to see several other shows. “I prefer the Milan Fashion Week to New York Fashion Week. There’s just more art to it, I think, and less commerce,” said the “Charmed” star.
McGowan, who was accompanied by vintage retailer Cameron Silver, revealed she would soon star on a new TV show on ABC. “I can’t say what it is yet,” she teased. The actress recently completed shooting in New Orleans on “The Tell-Tale Heart,” based on the story by Edgar Allan Poe, in which she plays a ghostly apparition. “She turns out to be a figment of somebody else’s imagination, so the outfits and the costumes got to be really elaborate and totally nonreality based, which was great fun. And I had an amazing rental house in the French Quarter with all the ivy and the Spanish moss hanging all around, so that added to the atmosphere,” McGowan said.
Silver, meanwhile, is preparing for a European book tour to coincide with the release of “Decades: A Century of Fashion” by Bloomsbury Publishing on Oct. 9. He has recently been traveling across the U.S. in support of the documentary “Versailles ’73: American Runway Revolution,” which he narrated.
