WHEN IN ROME: Carla Fendi was among front-row guests at Giambattista Valli on Monday. “He’s good,” she nodded approvingly.
“He used to work at Fendi,” she noted, adding a backward wave to indicate it was some time ago. Indeed, before launching his signature brand in 2005, the Rome-born designer had worked at Emanuel Ungaro, Roberto Capucci and Krizia, in addition to Fendi, where he was head of the Fendissime line when it launched in 1990.
The show also attracted the usual glut of young socials, including Bianca Brandolini, Tallulah Harlech, Theodora Richards and Elettra Wiedemann.
