EDIT TEST: A contingent of women striking their most ladylike looks took in Jason Wu’s show from the front row Friday afternoon in SoHo. Alicia Keys sat near Maria Sharpova, who is nursing a shoulder injury and had some free time on her hands this year in what is traditionally U.S. Open season. “I’ve had the chance to have a bit of fun while I’m away from the game for a few weeks,” she explained. Also along the front row were Emily Mortimer and Mickey Sumner. Jessica Paré of “Mad Men” explained that she and Wu had struck up a friendship after he dressed her for the Emmys. “There’s kind of a gravity of sexiness,” she said of his style. “It’s all really grounded in solid sex appeal, but there’s such an elegance and a female-ness to it too. It’s a great juxtaposition.” So should the acting thing work out, there’s always fashion writing, it seemed. “Thanks,” Paré laughed. “I’m just trying not to sound like an idiot.”
