NEW BEAT: Fashion lovers may soon be able to imitate Sam Sparro’s distinctive look. Sporting swimming goggle-style sunshades and a black fedora front row at the Kris Van Assche show, the Australian musician confided that he was considering an eyewear collaboration over the next 12 months. It will be “something that’s distinctly me but that other consumers and fashion lovers can buy,” he said. A new album Sparro is planning for 2013, meanwhile, will be “a more industrial, new jack swing-inspired sound.”
Also present was Ben Gorham, founder of fragrance brand Byredo, who plans what observers might see as “a bit of a jump” for his next project, to be unveiled in a couple of months. “It’s a big sidestep, but it feels very logical and natural in my mind,” he said, without revealing further details. A lipstick line Gorham has been working on, which was initially scheduled for launch this spring, has seen some delays, however. He now expects it to hit markets sometime in 2013.
Other VIPs checking out the Kris Van Assche show included “Grey’s Anatomy” star Jesse Williams and French actor Jérémie Elkaïm.
