TIME OUT: Sipping an iced tea, model-cum-musician Jamie Bochert was among the early arrivals at the Lanvin show on Sunday morning. And for a reason. Her partner, actor-cum-musician Michael Pitt chided her for having missed Ann Demeulemeester’s show a couple of days earlier. “I had to go to a fitting. I texted her to let her know,” squirmed Bochert. The couple said they plan to leave town after the shows to go stay with friends who have a farm in Spain near Albacete.
“We recently played a concert down there, but we’re not quite ready for Paris. We need to practice more,” said Pitt.
Haider Ackermann was in vacation mode, too, though of two minds about where to go. “Well, I was just discussing whether I go hiking in Switzerland or whether I go lose myself in Corsica — lose myself in nature,” he smiled.
“Thank god for vacation,” exclaimed Alber Elbaz, who mingled with guests before the show. The designer plans to travel to Italy and Asia. “The first year I came to Paris, when I was working with Guy Laroche, I arrived in August when everything was shut. I was talking with Ralph Toledano, and I told him ‘No, we are going to work in the month of August.’ And it took me one year to understand that [vacation] is like a garden and oxygen, and you need August to recuperate to do a better job,” he said.
