KIMYE CALLS: The two-star constellation of fame that is Kanye West and Kim Kardashian amped up an otherwise quiet scene at Louise Goldin’s runway show on the second floor of Milk Studios on Wednesday. The pair were the final arrivals to the show, which held up its 6:45 p.m. start by about half an hour, and walked briskly to their front-row seats alongside Rachel Roy. The situation didn’t leave much time for deep discussion, but Kardashian was able to explain her absence from the New York shows this week. “I have been working,” she said, emphasizing the last word. “It’s been a work week, so I had to work back in L.A. and took a little vacation time actually.”
Working on what, she couldn’t say, as show runners quickly brushed off the scrum surrounding the couple. Kardashian wore a black knee-length skirt by the British designer paired with a black-and-white varsity jacket over her shoulders.
Goldin, who reportedly worked on West’s women’s wear debut last year, was making her first New York Fashion Week appearance. It seemed the rapper was repaying the support. After Goldin’s bow, the pair beat an exit via the stage door.
