A FEISTY AFFAIR: Janice Man could have easily taken on the scrum of photographers trying to get a shot of Kanye West, who was seated front row at the Maison Martin Margiela show on Friday night.
“I’m a good fighter now,” the Chinese actress pointed out, fresh off the Berlinale, where she presented “The Midnight After,” a horror-comedy by Fruit Chan in which she plays a sexy combatant. “I practiced Thai boxing with a personal trainer for four months and had to eat a lot of chicken breast and eggs for the protein – that was so hard for me,” declared the vegetarian.
Lun-Mei Gwei’s new movie “Black Coal, Thin Ice,” directed by Diao Yinan, scooped up the Golden Baer at the Berlinale in February. Gwei described the thriller as “dark” and her role in it as “mysterious.”
“I play a woman with a lot of secrets in her heart,” she said, clearly looking forward to relaxing her mind with lighter issues. “I’m taking some time off to travel around Europe.”
Renzo Rosso and Denise Vasi were also among the guests.
