GOING FOR GOLD: A newcomer to Milan Fashion Week, British musician Leon Else took in the Salvatore Ferragamo show on Sunday, and said he is getting passionate about fashion.
“I’m staying a few more days in Milan to attend some shows and then I’ll go to Paris where I have an exclusive with Givenchy,” he said.
Then, Else, who is releasing a new album this year, will go back to the U.K., where he will kick off his live tour Jan. 22 at London’s Gold Dust club.
Ferragamo chief executive officer Michele Norsa said before the show that the forecast for next year in China was still positive and for 2013 global sales were in line with expectations. In China, sales were propelled by Ferragamo’s core footwear business and “better growth in second- and third-tier cities” compared with first-tier locations. Norsa said tourism continues to be the most important driver in Italy and that the Expo in Milan in 2015 will help build business and traffic starting in the second half of the year.
