SAY UNCLE: Tom Ford pulled an A-list lineup of movie stars for his show on Monday night, including Cate Blanchett, Armie Hammer and Colin Firth. Ford’s fellow countryman Hammer is in London to work on “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” Guy Ritchie’s latest movie with Henry Cavill. Meanwhile, Blanchett’s latest project, “Cinderella,” has a more romantic vibe. “It hasn’t started filming yet,” she noted, “but I’m playing the stepmother.” Not Cinderella? “Maybe a few years ago,” she demurred.
As for Firth: “Can’t you just Google me?” he pleaded.
Over the weekend, Ford feted his new boutique on Sloane Street, all sinuous black marble and with a dramatic central stairway. Guests at the opening party included Portia Freeman, “Star Trek” actor Chris Pine, Laura Bailey, David Gandy and Jodie Kidd. “He makes you feel so womanly,” Freeman sighed.
“I started out with Tom. I did all my beginning years with him at Gucci,” Kidd recalled. The model just rejoined an agency three weeks ago following a six-year sabbatical “doing crazy things like racing cars,” she said, adding she plans to walk in the Moschino show in Milan.
