Tommy Hilfiger drew Rosario Dawson, Petra Nemcova, Rose Byrne and Olivia Palermo to its women’s wear show on Sunday night. Amar’e Stoudemire was also on hand for a second season in a row. Wearing a bow tie, navy blue cardigan and what appeared to be Nike skateboard sneakers, the Knicks forward said he was feeling fine after a toe injury kept him out of the previous night’s game. He also said that his women’s clothing project with Rachel Roy is developing nicely.
“We’re doing a line that’s kind of sport apparel for women. It’s still going well,” Stoudemire said. “A woman wants to look good when she goes to basketball games. So I figure it’s a great target for us to design some sport wear for women to still stay sexy when they go to basketball games.”
As the show got under way, Stoudemire took his seat in between Anna Wintour and Hamish Bowles, occasionally whispering to the latter as the models passed by.
Wyclef Jean and Russell Simmons were also on hand. Simmons said his sportswear line, Argyleculture, is set to expand into more Macy’s stores.
“Tommy’s my biggest inspiration; he helped me get started 20 years ago,” Simmons said.
