POWER SEAT: For her first ever fashion show, Baz Luhrmann’s daughter, Lilly, got the second-best seat in the house: The nine-year-old sat next to Anna Wintour at the Valentino couture show in Paris on Wednesday. Luhrmann explained that his wife, costume designer Catherine Martin, was unable to attend after badly injuring her foot during the family’s stay in Paris. The “Great Gatsby” director is producing a stage adaptation of “Strictly Ballroom,” the movie that hurled him into the spotlight in 1992.

“It has some new musical pieces in it, as well the original music that we know in the film. I’m going to start it in Australia in March, and of course, if it’s worthy and people like it, it should grow from there,” Luhrmann said, adding that he hoped the musical would make it to Broadway. A host of socials — including Princess Madeleine of Sweden, Tallulah Harlech, Olivia Palermo, Eugenie Niarchos, Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis and Nicky Hilton — joined house founders Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti at the show.

Zhang Ziyi said she would be in the U.S. later this summer to promote Wong Kar Wai’s “The Grandmaster,” scheduled for release on Aug. 23. The Chinese actress is also preparing to star in John Woo’s romantic epic “The Crossing.”

“It’s kind of a Chinese version of ‘Titanic,’” she said of the historic drama, which is inspired by the 1949 sinking of a steamer carrying refugees fleeing Communist China during the Chinese Civil War.

Maureen Dowd of The New York Times took in the show from the second row. She was in Paris for a week, researching her column published Sunday on the malaise in France that’s been making headlines. “I’m here to see what the mood is,” she said, confessing that she had so far been having a splendid time in the fashion capital, where one of her Dolce & Gabbanas is featured in the “Little Black Dress” exhibition at the Mona Bismarck American Center for Art and Culture.
