SHOW TIME: Hot off his run in “American Psycho” on Broadway, which closed on June 5, actor Benjamin Walker was looking dapper in a tweed suit front row at the Valentino men’s show on Wednesday afternoon.
Chinese actor Yang Yang, meanwhile, got flashbulbs popping in a “pearly” suit from the label’s fall collection. Next to him, Louis-Marie de Castelbajac looked positively casual in his Breton-style striped t-shirt and sneakers.
De Castelbajac has also been spending a lot of time in New York lately, he said, where he has been working on creative projects for Castelbajac Creative Agency, founded by his father Jean-Charles in 2015. The agency recently decorated the facade of Orly airport in Paris and on July 12 will stage a musical event within the terminal.
“I’m also going to launch a swimwear brand in partnership with Mackeene,” said de Castelbajac, always one to have several projects on the go. “It’s a meeting between the exotism of St. Bart’s and the urbanism of Paris, between the palm tree and the Eiffel Tower,” he said of the project, initially for men, set to launch early next year.
Laure Hériard Dubreuil and her husband, the artist Aaron Young, were also in a more relaxed mode — she sporting a kimono and he in a pajama-style ensemble. “We just had a few days in Italy relaxing, so we are easing our way into men’s fashion week in Paris,” summed up Hériard Dubreuil.
“We’re in Europe for the summer and using Paris as our base,” Young added. A show of his work opened just the day before in Beirut, he said, and had been well received.
