G-Star Raw, Marchon Ink Eyewear Deal

The denim brand's first eyewear collection will hit stores in October.

STAR VISION: Denim brand G-Star RAW has inked a licensing agreement with Marchon for the production and worldwide distribution of its first eyewear collection, hitting stores in October.

“This is an important day for G-Star,” said the company’s chief executive officer Jos van Tilburg. “We are happy to begin this collaboration with Marchon and we are proud of the fact that with their experience and skills we will be able to bring G-Start’s design philosophy and innovative strategy into the eyewear business.”

“The licensing agreement with G-Star represents another important step in the development of Marchon’s brand portfolio,” said Marchon president and chief executive officer Claudio Gottardi. “G-Star has a rich heritage and a terrific story. The combination of a distinctive concept and high quality, alomg with exclusive craftsmanship, are perfectly in line with Marchon’s values and philosophy. We hope to keep expanding the presence of the G-Star brand all over the world.”

New York-based Marchon already manufactures and distributes eyewear collections for brands including Calvin Klein, Chloé, Diane von Furstenberg, Emilio Pucci, Fendi, Jil Sander, Lacoste, Michael Kors, Nike, Salvatore Ferragamo and Valentino.
