Gelila Puck Throws Birthday Fete, Toasts Redesigned Spago

The four-course dinner at the Beverly Hills power eatery was personally prepared by Wolfgang Puck, who wore his white chef’s coat to the party.

PUCKER UP: Ever the multi-tasker, Gelila Puck made sure her birthday party on Saturday was an elegant way to kill two birds with one stone. “We also wanted to welcome friends who haven’t seen the new Spago yet,” said Puck of the Waldo Fernadez redesign of her husband’s Beverly Hills power eatery. Three long candle-lit tables were set up in the restaurant’s private room and brick courtyard for a four-course dinner personally prepared by Wolfgang Puck, who wore his white chef’s coat to the party. Liseanne and Peter Frankfurt, Bill and Maria Bell, Serge and Tatiana Sorokko, Greg Gorman, Sandy Hill, Liz Goldwyn, Shiva Rose, Kendall Conrad, Lawrence Bender, Loree Rodkin, Monique Lhuillier and Brooke Davenport were among those who came to the four-hour-plus fete, which included a girl band and dancing. “My husband and I left early from a party we hosted at our house to make it here for dessert,” said Lhuillier. The setting brought up fond memories for Liseanne Frankfurt, who had her first Sting sighting at Spago as a teen. Goldwyn, who recalled eating at the old Sunset Boulevard location as a child, said, “I’ve never had a bad night at Spago. I just don’t think it’s possible.”
