WASH AND WEAR: German brands are keeping it clean this season by offering special washes to keep cashmere cozy, wools warm and cottons calm. Sportswear brand Closed offers two phosphate-free wash formulas online and in its shops around Europe. Each 240-ml bottle is priced at 6 euros, or about $7.60. Hannes Roether, who recently opened two rustic modern-styled shops in Berlin, offers a gentle washing liquid based on shampoo, reasoning what’s good for human hair is good for the hair of goats and sheep. It retails for 9 euros, or about $11.50.
Finally, cashmere specialists Allude are now cashmere care experts, too, with a full range of products created in cooperation with natural cosmetics company Speick. A gift set includes cleanser and conditioner in a deluxe box with a cashmere comb and care booklet for 36 euros, or $46. A liter of cashmere wash will set you back 43 euros ($55), while the 500-ml wash or conditioner costs 27 euros ($34). For a quick fix, there is Refresh, a freshening spray retailing for 18 euros, or $23, for 250 ml. During Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin later this month, Allude designer Andrea Karg will host a special presentation for the care line and present a new cashmere second skin capsule collection designed with Gala Germany fashion director Marcus Luft.
