GET CONNECTED: Cindy Sherman, Narciso Rodriguez, Pharrell Williams, Paz de la Huerta, Maria Cornejo and Rebecca Minkoff were among the 100 influencers rounded up by Roman Grandinetti for his CNNCTD+100 project. Better known as DJ Manero, he and his team handed out a Playbutton — essentially a wearable pin that doubles as a MP3 player — to have each subject create a signature audio and visual design. Grandinetti, whose girlfriend is Cornejo’s daughter, Bibi Cornejo Borthwick, also got some extra help on the project from HBO’s “Broke Mogul” Scott Vener, Half Gallery’s Bill Powers and legendary ad man George Lois.
Some of the subjects and fans of their work showed up Tuesday night at the store at the New Museum in Manhattan, where the exhibition is on display and passersby can listen to 10 at a time for the next three weeks. Similar installations are planned for Paris and Japan.
