Anna Wintour Hosts Fashionable Fund-Raiser for Kirsten Gillibrand

The Vogue editor in chief held an event at her Sullivan Street townhouse to raise funds for the junior senator from New York's reelection campaign.

GILLIBRAND’S FASHIONABLE FUND-RAISER: Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand was front row at Carolina Herrera’s show last month and, on Monday, the designer returned the favor by attending a fund-raiser for the Democratic lawmaker at the home of Anna Wintour, sources told WWD. The Vogue editor in chief is one of President Obama’s top rainmakers and she’s also raising cash for Gillibrand’s reelection campaign, in which the well-funded junior senator from New York is facing weak Republican opposition.

Also at the Sullivan Street townhouse were Diane von Furstenberg, Kenneth Cole, Francisco Costa, Malcolm Carfrae, Andrew Rosen, Michael Kors and husband Lance LePere, Saks Fifth Avenue chairman and chief executive officer Stephen I. Sadove and Alexandra Lebenthal. Gillibrand mingled with guests over Champagne and hors d’oeuvres during the two-hour event, which included a short speech and a question-and-answer session.
