Gilt City — the online site for anything from Hamptons getaways to laser hair removal, shows, restaurants and other experiences — will offer packages of unlimited Uber Pool rides during weekday rush hours in Manhattan this summer.
The Uber Pool Commute Card will be available on Gilt City beginning Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., for a limited time. There’s a two-week pass for $49; a four-week pass for $79, and an eight-week pass for $159. The passes are good for unlimited free rides Monday through Friday, from 7 to 10 a.m. and from 5 to 8 p.m., for trips beginning and ending in Manhattan below 125th Street.
“This partnership between Gilt City and Uber is a prime example of the kind of exclusive and first-to-market offers that Gilt members won’t find anywhere else,” said Jonathan Greller, president of Gilt and Saks Off 5th, which are divisions of the Hudson Bay Co. He said Uber is “as eager to shake up the transportation industry as Gilt is to innovate in retail.” Added Josh Mohrer, Uber’s New York City general manager: “We are hoping to make commuting in the hot summer just a little bit easier by expanding our $5 Uber Pool flat-rate option to include unlimited Uber Pool rides in Manhattan for the first time ever.”
