David Bowie Exhibit Set to Bow in London

According to industry sources, Tilda Swinton will be impersonating the man of the hour in his absence Wednesday night at London's Victoria & Albert Museum.

GIRLS MEETS BOY?: When the who’s who of London comes together on Wednesday night for the opening of “David Bowie Is,” the Victoria & Albert’s retrospective of Bowie’s career, the svelte, sharp cheek-boned, strawberry blonde figure surrounded by admirers may not be the man of the hour. According to industry sources, Tilda Swinton, who appears in Bowie’s video for his latest single “The Stars (Are Out Tonight),” will be impersonating Bowie in his absence.

Party organizers couldn’t confirm whether Bowie would actually be at the gala and the museum is keeping mum about Swinton’s planned outfit for the evening. Other VIPs expected include Kate Moss and Jamie Hince, Katie Hillier, Bill Nighy, Erdem Moralioglu, Christopher Kane and Tracey Emin.
