Diesel Black Gold Names New Creative Director

Norwegian fashion designer Andreas Melbostad will step into the role starting in October.

GOING FOR GOLD: Norwegian fashion designer Andreas Melbostad will be the new Diesel Black Gold creative director starting in October, according to reports in Milan. Melbostad, who is a consultant designer at Roberto Cavalli and who worked for several fashion houses, including Guy Laroche, Yves Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein and Susan Dell’s sportswear label Phi, will succeed Sophia Kokosalaki. As reported, Kokosalaki, who has designed the Diesel Black Gold women’s collection since June 2009, will exit that role after the brand’s spring show on Sept. 11 in New York.

The company declined to comment.
