There’s nothing like a torrential downpour to put a damper on party attendance—and perfectly coiffed hair.
But Monday night, the Fifth Avenue Frédéric Fekkai salon was packed to the rafters when Allison Aston, Byrdie Bell, Stacey Bendet Eisner and Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss hosted a party for Jill Kargman’s latest novel “The eX Mrs. Hedgefund.”
“We had people lining up starting at 6:15,” confided one p.r. of the unnaturally punctual crowd (the official start time was 6:30).
“I expected some kind of attrition rate,” said a shocked Kargman, who spent most of the evening behind a table signing copies of her tome.
Nearby, her parents Coco and Arie Kopelman kept an eye on Kargman’s young daughter, Sadie, who chatted with guests and even helped her mother out, autographing copies herself. Consider it a dress rehearsal: the mother-daughter duo have already penned a book together, to be released in two years.
And with her frizz-free do, Sadie had one leg up on a few of the rain-drenched grownups in attendance.
“My mother did it—it’s by Coco Fekkai,” joked Kargman.
Less fortunate ladies could find solace in the gift bag, containing a certificate for a free Frédéric Fekkai blow out.
