HALL OF FAMER: Coming off this month’s ACE awards, The Accessories Council is set to honor another industry veteran: Abbey Doneger. The Doneger Group president will collect his award Jan. 9 at the Accessories Council’s 2012 Hall of Fame Tribute to be held at The Morgan Library & Museum in New York.
“Abbey is well overdue for this honor. He is a prominent force in the fashion world. The Doneger Group, under his leadership has a profound impact on the fashion accessories industry. The council also didn’t want to be known as an old girls club,” quipped Accessories Council president Karen Giberson. The Hall of Fame Tribute event, which began in 2007, is presented to a proven leader whose business activities significantly contribute to the $30 billion a year accessories market. Celebrating its 65th year in business, The Doneger Group is one of the more prominent trend analysis and merchandising consulting firms.

“The accessories market is an integral part of our business, and the council has done a wonderful job in serving the industry,” said Doneger, who has been with the company for 38 years. “On behalf of our Doneger Group team, I am very appreciative of this honor, and I look forward to continuing a strong partnership with the Accessories Council in the future.”
