HAPPY TALK: Fans of Jean-Charles de Castelbajac will get to enjoy behind-the-scenes footage of the designer at work and at play in “Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Happy-Culteur,” a new French documentary about Castelbajac produced and directed by Carole Bienaimé-Besse in conjunction with April Snow Films & Capital. Bienaimé-Besse got to shadow the designer in his daily life for almost a year for the work, which will premiere in Paris on May 10, before airing on the French TV station, NRJ Paris, in June. Renowned for his Pop Art-flavored designs and quirky fashion shows, de Castelbajac founded his namesake company in 1979, where he continues to serve as artistic director. Iconic Castelbajac designs include the designer’s blanket and teddy bear coats.
