Harrods Channels Gatsby Glamour With Pop-Up Bar

Customers can sample modern takes on classic cocktails in an Art-Deco lounge.

LONDON — Harrods is getting in on the Gatsby act with a pop-up cocktail bar inspired by the glamour of the jazz age in 1920s America.

From May 9 to May 20, the Tasting Room and Wine Shop will be made over into a glitzy den of opulent Art-Deco decadence. On the evening of Friday May 10, consumers will be able to attend a ticketed mixology masterclass with Wayne Collins and a team of internationally recognized, award-winning cocktail-makers give a modern twist to classic tipples. Tickets cost 50 pounds (about $76 at current exchange).

For the rest of the time, the underground space can be visited throughout the day and the theatrical cocktail-making sessions will happen at the main-bar of the Wine Shop.
