Fred Hayman Feted at Book Release Party

The famed merchant and Rose Apodaca’s new book were celebrated Wednesday night at Caulfield’s at the Thompson Beverly Hills.

HAYMAN’S NIGHT: There were cocktails and crab cakes, but unfortunately no caviar — Fred Hayman’s signature decadent touch — during a celebration Wednesday night at Caulfield’s at the Thompson Beverly Hills for Rose Apodaca’s book on the famed merchant, “Fred Hayman — The Extraordinary Difference: The Story of Rodeo Drive, Hollywood Glamour and the Showman Who Sold It All.” “Fred Hayman is an icon who represents glamour and Hollywood and all the things that had the allure of the city for me,” said Arianne Phillips, host of the event along with Jeremy Scott.

Putting their stamp on the inside cover, Apodaca and Hayman gamely signed books, posed for pictures and shook hands. How many? “At least five,” said Hayman humbly as friends, colleagues and admirers, among them Magda Berliner, Tarina Tarantino, Des Kohan, Raven Kauffman and Roman Alonso, requested autographs.
