Hedi Slimane Gets Paris Photo Expo

The designer’s portraits of rock stars are to be showcased at the Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent Foundation.

PET ROCKS: Hedi Slimane’s photos of musicians, including the late Lou Reed and Amy Winehouse, are to be featured in a Paris exhibition this fall at the Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent Foundation. The French designer and creative director of Saint Laurent sifted through 15 years of his photo archives to uncover black-and-white portraits of musical figures such as Keith Richards and Brian Wilson. The showcase is to include a video installation juxtaposing Slimane’s photos documenting the London music scene circa 2003 to 2007 and California’s from 2007 to the present day.

Titled “Hedi Slimane: Sonic,” the showcase is to open Sept. 18, just in time for Paris Fashion Week, and run through Jan. 11.
