UNDER THE HAMMER: Some 200 items from the closet of the late Hélène Rochas are slated to be auctioned off on May 12 at the Cornette de Saint Cyr auction house in Paris. The celebrated Parisian beauty and jet-set fixture who helped turn Rochas into a perfume powerhouse died in 2011, leaving behind a vast wardrobe, with around 80 percent bearing the label Yves Saint Laurent.

Among the standouts is a YSL gown from the spring 1967 couture collection estimated at between 3,000 and 4,000 euros, or $3,422 and $4,563 at current exchange; a chiffon Grès evening outfit from 1975 estimated at between 800 and 1,200 euros, $912 or $1,369; and a jacket of Marcel Rochas, her couturier husband who died in 1955, at between 250 and 300 euros, or $285 and $342. The public can view the collection from May 9 to May 11 at the auction house.
