Trina Turk Ties Up With Threadless for Design Challenge

One winner will create a print for the designer’s fall collection.

HELP WANTED: Trina Turk has called upon Threadless, the online community with 2.2 million artists, to launch a design challenge that will result in one winner creating a print for the designer’s fall collection. The aim is to come up with a print that will be used for Turk’s ready-to-wear collection, as well as her home line and the Mr Turk label designed by her husband, Jonathan Skow. Submissions will be accepted through Aug. 30, with the chosen designer pocketing $2,000 in cash, a $2,000 Trina Turk gift card, a $500 Threadless gift certificate and pieces from Trina Turk’s fall 2013 collection that feature the chosen design.

Both Threadless and Trina Turk have been busy with various collaborations. Earlier this year Threadless made a major push into the mainstream with Gap Inc., and last week Threadless kicked off a design contest with Bed Bath & Beyond. Trina Turk, meanwhile, has collaborated with Banana Republic for a capsule collection. The designer has also created a cabana for The St. Regis Princeville Resort, Trina Turk & Caicos swimwear for the Grace Bay Club and limited-edition nail polish for Julep.
