Henry Holland Launches T-shirt Line for Mr. Price

Henry Holland launched a limited edition t-shirt collection for the trendy local mass-market retailer, Mr Price.

HENRY HOLLAND FOR MR PRICE: Big-name designer collaborations are rare in these parts, so when Henry Holland breezed into South Africa to launch the limited edition t-shirt collection he created for the trendy local mass-market retailer, Mr Price, there was lots of excitement. The t-shirts, which will be in stores Nov. 23, were inspired by some of Holland’s most iconic runway collections. But the t-shirts are more than a fashion statement: South African Rands 10 (around $1.20) from each t-shirt sold will go to the RedCap Schools Project, an initiative that partners with and empowers schools to improve the educational experiences of young South Africans.

Holland’s first stop upon his arrival in Durban was St Christopher’s Primary School in the province of KwaZulu Natal. He presented the schoolchildren with a mobile library and PE kits, while they in turn gave him bracelets and artwork they made themselves. “I was really drawn to this project when the guys at Mr Price told me about the hook up with the RedCap Foundation. The fact that we can donate funds to this charity through our fashion collection is a brilliant idea. I hope we can make a difference to these kids’ lives through this collaboration,” he said.
