Highline United Holdings Adds Handbag Division

The company has appointed Kenny Horowitz as president of the newly established division.

NEW LEG: Highline United Holdings is adding to its portfolio with the launch of a new handbag division. The company, which currently produces footwear for labels Ash, Luxury Rebel, French Connection and Elie Tahari, among others, has appointed Kenny Horowitz as president of the newly established division. Previously, Horowitz headed handbags at Kenneth Cole, Steve Madden, and most, recently, Pour La Victoire. Laura Satzman, formerly of Trebbianno LLC, has been named creative director. Ash, known for its popular wedge sneaker styles, will be the first label to receive the handbag treatment.

“Like [the brand’s] shoes and jackets, handbags will focus on washed and textured leathers in deconstructed shapes,” said Horowitz.

Horowitz noted the fall 2014 collection would also have a heavy emphasis on embellishment, such as fringe, chains and studs.

The product is currently in production, and will be ready for wholesale orders in February. The first merchandise is expected to hit retail in July, with prices ranging from about $195 to $495.

Currently, Highline United distributes through Bergdorf-Goodman, Barney’s New York, Holt Renfrew, Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom, among others, though it still remains unseen what doors will pick up Ash’s debut collection.

Luxury Rebel has been named the company’s next endeavor, with a slated launch for Spring 2015.
