HOLIDAY MANIFESTO: The Council of Fashion Designers of America just sent out its holiday e-card, which builds on the Design Manifesto it dispatched earlier this year to nearly 1,300 people to fight copying in fashion. Originality is a key term in the manifesto, and the card reflects that. It features an illustration of dangling ornaments, each featuring a term from the original manifesto, such as “Passion,” “Integrity,” “Creativity,” and “Originality.”
“It is CFDA’s hope that the new year brings more attention to the importance of design and that as an industry we continue to celebrate originality,” explained Steven Kolb, chief executive officer. “Our holiday card builds on the Design Manifesto we launched during the September shows and is another way to convey what is an important belief of CFDA.”
