Hugo Tracks on Tour Brings Kate Boy to L.A.

Hugo Boss will throw a party tonight at downtown venue The Lash featuring the buzzy Swedish band.

HUGO BOSS AND KATE BOY, TAKE 2: As part of its Hugo Tracks on Tour program, Hugo Boss will throw a party in Los Angeles tonight featuring the buzzy Swedish band Kate Boy. The program, which launched in 2011 and has featured up-and-coming electronic dance music, or EDM, bands Little Dragon, Miami Horror and DJ Nina Kraviz, first partnered with Kate Boy in Amsterdam last November for a show at the massive underground club Trouw. “That was like our biggest show to date. [Hugo Boss] have really helped us reach a larger audience,” said singer Kate Akhurst.

Kate Boy, which also consists of musician-songwriters Hampus Nordgren Hemlin and Markus Dextegen, also performed a cover of Edwyn Collins’ “Girl Like You” for a Hugo fragrance spot. The band is set to release its first album this summer and will play a one-off set on Thursday at downtown Los Angeles venue The Lash, drawing RSVPs from Ivy Getty, Kid Cudi, Devon Aoki, Drake Bell and Jason Lewis, among others.
