IMG Models has signed Fabrice Calmels, the tallest ballet dancer, according to the Guinness Book of World Record.
Camels, the principle dancer of the Joffrey Ballet, is 6 feet, 6 inches.
“I am thrilled to have joined IMG models,” Calmels said. “I have been a lead dancer with the Joffrey Ballet for many years while also developing multiple creative projects on the side. IMG has demonstrated a great understanding of who I am and what I would like to achieve in the next phase of my career. I believe with them I will be able to achieve a seamless link between who I am and what I have previously accomplished with new and exciting opportunities.”
Calmels, who is French, recently appeared with Karlie Kloss in a Versace campaign video shot by Bruce Weber. When he’s not dancing and modeling, he serves as a guest judge on the Fox series “So You Think You Can Dance.”
“We are pleased to welcome Fabrice into our IMG family,” said Kevin Apana, head of IMG Model’s Men’s Board. “His discipline at a young age reminds us there is nothing that can’t be accomplished with hard work and determination. We look forward to collaborating with him on new opportunities, and we are excited about what is ahead.”
IMG has been on a men’s model signing spree and tapping into more personalities. Its new clients this year include professional bull rider Bonner Bolton, actor Luke Evans, plus-size model Zach Miko, and “Younger” actor Nico Tortorella.
