J. Crew Opens First London Store

The new men’s-only store at 38 Lamb’s Conduit Street is the first of three stand-alone locations set to debut in the city this fall.

IN LIKE A LAMB: J. Crew has quietly opened the first of three stand-alone stores set to debut in London this fall. The new men’s-only store spans 1,300 square feet and is located at 38 Lamb’s Conduit Street. It stocks mostly shirting, but also offers an assortment of the brand’s Ludlow suits, accessories, and exclusive products from Thomas Mason, London Undercover, Han Kjobenhavn, M&P Timepieces, Corgi and Begg & Co.

The shop is housed in an early 19th-century town house, and bestsellers so far include Ludlow suits and Ludlow tweed jackets, while customers including Max Wallis, the model and poet; the photographer Alistair Guy; and Equinox chief executive officer Harvey Spevak have all paid visits, according to sources.

Early next month, a J. Crew Collection women’s store will open in South Kensington around the same time as the brand’s big trophy asset — a flagship on Regent Street. That store will stock Crewcuts, the brand’s children’s line, and have a separate men’s wear entrance on Regent Street.
