IN THE DESERT: Prada launched a unique project in the desert north of Doha, Qatar, in collaboration with Damien Hirst and Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani, chair of the Qatar Museums Authority. The “Prada Oasis and Damien Hirst’s Pharmacy Juice Bar” marked the opening of the artist’s “Relics” retrospective in Doha, which runs until Jan. 22.

The exhibit made extensive use of the sandy location, with a Bedouin tent transformed into a pharmacy — complete with two human skeletons — and a Prada store inside a bayaat shaar, or sheep-hair tent. The Italian fashion brand’s limited range of 20 Entomology bags was on display and for sale, featuring insect embroidery and a variety of real beetles and bugs inside the Plexiglas shells.

Proceeds from the bags went toward the Sheikha’s Reach Out to Asia nonprofit, which aims to improve young people’s access to education in the Middle East and Asia.
