IN THE MIX: Cornelia Guest’s cruelty-free handbag line is becoming a retailer favorite. The collection is already carried in close to 50 doors worldwide — including Bloomingdale’s, Tootsies and, come November, Holt Renfrew. Intermix is the latest to add Guest’s handbags to its fall accessory offerings. The retailer will carry the oversize woven Sebastian hobo starting next month in 13 of its doors in locations such as New York City’s Bleecker Street, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Dallas, Philadelphia and Westport, Conn., as well as online.

The style is a new silhouette Guest is introducing for the fall, and she said the light gray, fake snake print-patterned hobo is her answer to creating the “right size” bag that can take the wearer from day to night.

Guest attributes the continued growth of her one-year-old handbag line to an attainable price point (the Sebastian retails for $350) and the growing popularity of veganism and vegetarianism. “It’s affordable and it’s an intelligent alternative, and people like the fact that it’s cruelty free,” she said.
